Mari Takahashi serves as host and producer of SMOSH Games, the top-ranking and award-winning gaming brand, which launched on YouTube in September 2012 as an extension of digital comedy powerhouse SMOSH. It became the fastest-growing channel to reach 1MM on YouTube at launch and continues to experience explosive growth with now over 7MM subscribers. SMOSH Games also counts over 3.2MM social followers and received a Streamy Award for “Best Gaming Channel” in 2014. SMOSH Games programming has also successfully moved into new and emerging OTT and streaming platforms such as go90, Watchable and SkyTV, among others.
In her role as producer, Mari frequently collaborates with DEFY marketing executives and a range of brand and agency partners on the creative development and execution of gaming focused branded content initiatives. With well over 1.7MM social followers, she is a passionate gamer, digital creator, social media expert and influencer, and enjoys regular speaking opportunities at prominent media industry conferences sharing her unique experience and perspective. As part of her ongoing programming at SMOSH Games, she also hosts the popular weekly show Maricraft inspired by her passion for Minecraft.
In Spring 2016, Mari was chosen to compete on CBS’s long-running hit show Survivor, where she joined the Millennials team in a battle against Gen X. In addition to her love of the outdoors and seeking adventure, she is a professionally trained ballerina who toured and taught her craft for over 15 years.
